Playa del Carmen is a coastal resort town in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico, along the Caribbean shoreline. It's known for its palm-lined white sandy beaches and coral reefs. Its Quinta Avenida pedestrian thoroughfare runs along the beach, with many diverse shops, restaurants and nightspots including laid-back bars and dance clubs.

There will be fewer people visiting Playa del Carmen between April and May, so that is the best time to fly over. Day temperatures hover between 21 and 26 degrees, dropping slightly in the evenings. In the months October to March, the climate is generally dry and slightly warm.
